Do not be afraid to share your story. Although it would make perfect sense to leave the horror behind, but remember how big of a difference the sharing of your story can make in someone else’s life. Reading your story will empower others to do the same and will create a safe place for those who were shamefully abused and discriminated against. Moreover, your story will shape a new consciousness by helping those in charge of policies in our military to enact new laws and procedures to protect our minorities in uniform.
